As your state officer team, we ask for your support to achieve this mission by holding us accountable and by fully participating in our events. We hope that your chapters will be attending our first official event together as a state, the DECA Dash on October 7th. Be on the look out for information from your District Vice President. News of NOTE: Denver, January 27th - The Colorado DECA State Action team is hosting a winter benefit concert for
Ethiopia Reads. The concert will be featuring young musical talent from around the state of Colorado. It
will be hosted in the Carriage House at the Governors Mansion from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday the 27th
of January. Proceeds from the concert, which includes ticket sales and donations will be donated to The
Ethiopia Reads and children in Ethiopia. More Information
Kelly VanWoerkhom is the 2007-2008 National DECA President: As a candidate, Kelly met with students from over 31 states and provinces. She was tested and interviewed on her past experience and goals regarding leadership and management. The testing required her to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the DECA organization and business operations. Press Release to learn more
Upon successful completion of her duties, Kelly will earn a full ride scholarship to Johnson Wales University worth an estimated $140,000. Kelly’s responsibilities will include: speaking and presenting workshops at DECA conferences, representing the organization for the congressional advisory board, writing reports and communicating with the state associations, and presenting DECA’s annual check at the MDA Telethon.
